🔬 WHAT DOES RESEARCH SAY ABOUT STEAM CLEANING?
A separate study involving 50 urban homes compared intensive HEPA vacuuming with HEPA vacuuming combined with dry-steam cleaning.
The researchers measured dust and house-dust-mite allergens in carpets.
The HEPA + dry-steam cleaning approach reduced:
85.5% of house-dust-mite allergen loading
compared with:
80.8% with repeated HEPA vacuuming alone.
The researchers concluded that intensive HEPA vacuuming was highly effective, while adding dry steam produced additional cleaning benefits, particularly for dust and certain contaminants.
